Tussle Over Ebola Policy Regarding Airport Caution

Ebola

There appears to be a difference of opinion of what level of caution to implement regarding returning doctors and nurses from West Africa. The medical community, including the CDC, feels that self-monitoring of symptoms for 21 days is adequate, while the governors of New York and New Jersey, with the former relenting late Sunday night, believe a mandatory 21-day quarantine is called for.

For now Gov. Chris Christie of New Jersey has the ruling hand, at least in regards to Newark Airport, and now nurse Kaci Hickox, pulled off a plane for what she termed “inhumane treatment,” is stuck in quarantine and not happy about it. She’s posted an Op-Ed, and plans to sue.

ABC’s Aaron Katersky joined us from the Newark Airport.
