CITRUS SPRINGS, Fla. (AP) — Sheriff’s deputies say an 18-year-old was shot and killed by another teen when a fight broke out during a large gathering of teenagers in north Florida.
The Citrus County Sheriff’s Office says the shooting happened in a remote area around 1 a.m. Sunday.
A 16-year-old was arrested and charged in the death of Fredrick Drew.
The St. Petersburg Times reports the teen is charged with non-premeditated murder.
One witness told deputies Drew brought a gun to the party and the suspect pulled a gun from his waistband and shot him.
Detectives spent Sunday interviewing witnesses.
