Teen Arrested After Foot Race, Gun Found In Possession

A minor was arrested after it was discovered that he had a gun in his pants pocket.

Hillsborough deputies say they pulled over 16-year-old Ahmad Coleman of Seffner Friday night at 10:13 p.m. after finding him riding a bike at night with no light in the area of Dolphin Drive and Bonito Street.

During a pat down, officers discovered a gun in his pants pocket and he fled on foot. Coleman was cornered after he fell trying to jump a fence into a backyard. Police then tased him and arrested him without further incident.

Police say Coleman was in possession of a Sig Sauer P239 (9mm), which was reported stolen. Additionally, he had marijuana and the bike was also reported stolen.

He was charged with Carrying a Concealed Firearm, Minor in Possession of a Firearm, Obstructing or Opposing an Officer With Violence, Grand Theft Firearm, Possession of Marijuana and Petit Theft.
