A Tampa woman was hit by an ambulance while attempting to cross the road. The woman was not using a crosswalk.
The woman, Kimberley Tate, 21, was hit about 300 feet east of Hanley Road. There is no crosswalk or signal at this location. The ambulance was responding to another call and had slowed down before impact.
They stopped to tend to the woman and another ambulance was called to the location of the incident where the first ambulance was headed.
The woman was transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital where she remains in critical condition. The crash remains under investigation by Traffic Homicide detectives. Next of kin has been notified.
