Woman Charged With DUI, Child Neglect After Crashing Car

A woman has been arrested after crashing into a business Thursday night.

Christina Marie Rice, 32, of Clearwater was charged with DUI, child neglect, possession of a controlled substance and driving with a license suspended or revoked. She was taken to the Pinellas County Jail after the 8:28 p.m. accident.

Police say Rice was involved in a minor two-car accident at Hercules Avenue and Gulf-to-Bay Boulevard; both drivers then pulled into the parking lot at the southeast corner of the intersection.

That’s when the car driven by Rice went out of control and slammed into a store that sells electronic cigarettes. The vehicle came to rest completely inside the store.

She had two children with her – ages 8 and 11 – at the time of the accident.

No injuries were reported in either crash.
