Unoccupied Tampa Home Found Burning

Tampa Fire Rescue was called out to a house after a call from a motorist heading south on I-275 reported seeing a fire.

Using clues from the caller, crews arrived at 6610 N. Taliaferro Avenue at 4:28 am to find the single wooden structure 80% consumed by flames.

Firefighters immediately attacked the fire and initiated a search for the residence. The home was found to be unoccupied and there was no electrical power at the home.

The flames were put down by 5 am but firefighters are still dousing the structure to ensure no smoldering portion of the home reignites.

An investigator from the Fire Marshal’s Office is on scene to determine the cause and origin of the blaze.

There were no injuries reported.
