A Tampa woman is in a medically induced coma after getting hit by a car in Tallahassee.
Jackie Faircloth, 18, traveled to Tallahassee to attend the Florida State football game this past Saturday with her brother.
“She stepped out into the road and I yelled, ‘Jackie, there’s a car, look out,’ ” said J.T. Faircloth, her brother.
She was hit and the driver never stopped. Detectives are searching for a red or silver SUV with front end damage. Jackie’s family is offering a $20,000 reward for information.
Faircloth is a student at Plant High School in Tampa and is a third cousin of the famous Culpepper family.
“To others who may know something, please come forward. We’re begging for your help,” Jackie’s father, John Faircloth said, according to WTSP.
Update: The suspect, identified as Devon Dwyer, 20, has been arrested. Police arrived at Dwyer’s house at 10:35 p.m. Monday night and took him into custody without incident. He says he was going to turn himself in Tuesday, according to the affidavit.
