Tampa A Pretentious City?
Tampa was recently ranked #6 as one of the snobbiest cities in America by Travel + Leisure magazine. According to the magazine, “The upscale Southside delivers good people-watching and dolphin-watching along Bayshore Boulevard. It’s also where you’ll find the Epicurean Hotel, which has a wine shop and a cheeky dessert shop called Chocolate Pi, and faces local institution Bern’s Steak House.” The Tampa Bay Times responded to the quote by adding, “Ahem, one problem with that description: It’s South Howard, not South of Howard, which runs north-south.”
The magazine managed to rank 20 U.S. cities in the survey with Orlando ranked at #20. Travel + Leisure believes Orlando was ranked because of the luxuries offered to visitors outside the theme parks. The rankings came from the survey Travel + Leisure ran and allowed their readers to vote. The survey included categories such as Quality of Life, Food and Drink, Type of Trip, Shopping and so forth.
The magazine ranked the top 10 America’s snobbiest cities.
