Heavy rain is making the Wednesday afternoon rush more treacherous than usual.
Up to 6 inches of rain has fallen in some spots.
That means roads are closed due to flooding.
Tampa Police and Fire say they are getting requests from motorists for rescue from their vehicles because of flooding on Bayshore Boulevard.
The National Weather Service says we can expect another 2 to 3 inches of rain between 5 and 6 p.m. and then it will taper to light rain tonight.
Meantime, tonight’s Stanley Cup watch party at Curtis Hixon Park in Tampa is cancelled.
