Another legal victory for Hulk Hogan. A judge today upheld his 140 million dollar damage award against gossip website Gawker. And the judge rejected Gawker’s request for a new trial. The jury said Gawker violated Hogan’s privacy by posting a recording of him having sex with his best friend’s wife. Hogan is now suing Gawker for leaking sealed court documents that quote him making racist remarks.
Fire’s out at Coastal Wipers in Tampa. The East Parke Boulevard warehouse went up in flames this morning. Investigators are looking into why. Police discovered the fire when they answered a burglary call there.
Investigators are looking into the drowing of a two year old boy in his family’s back yard swimming pool on Little Ranch Road in Spring Hill. That makes three 2 year old boys who have drowned in Pasco County in the past month. Mothers of the other two face charges.
Less and less doubt that Casey Anthony murdered her daughter. Newly released court papers say Anthony lawyer Jose Baez knew she killed 2 year old Caylee and dumped her body. The papers also say Anthony told Baez to pin it all on the man who found Caylee’s body. Anthony was aquitted of murder charges.
Hillsborough Sheriff’s deputies follow the blood to a killer. First, they found blood all over the inside of a Thrasher Drive house in Tampa. Then they found the bloodied body of a woman in the trunk of a car outside. They then tracked down 44 year old Kydel Weldon, who had blood on his hands and clothes.
A student is hospitalized after getting stabbed in the boy’s restroom at Royal Palm Beach Community High School near West Palm Beach this morning. A suspect is in custody. It’s the second stabbing at the school in five months.
Another big year for Orlando theme parks. Disney World, Universal Orlando, and SeaWorld visits were up last year over 2014. 77 million people visited Orlando theme parks last year.
The Lightning’s season comes down to one game. The Bolts lost to the Penguins in Game 6 of the NHL Eastern Conference final last night. The deciding Game 7 is tomorrow night in Pittsburgh. The winner goes to Stanley Cup Finals.
