Kids Stay In Car While Pasco Mom Works

Pasco County police have arrested a 29-year-old woman after leaving two children inside a car while she worked inside a bar.

According to police, Tara Greenfield left a 1-year-old and a 7-year-old inside her car as she worked at the Brass Tap in Trinity. They say she clocked in at 5:51 p.m. Wednesday evening and left the children unattended for two hours while she was inside the bar. The car was reportedly running at the time.

Deputies responded to the scene after receiving an anonymous call alerting them to the children inside the vehicle. Oxycodone pills were found inside the vehicle near where the youngest child was sitting and a glass pipe with residue testing positive for cocaine was found inside the suspect’s purse.

Greenfield was transported to the Land O’ Lakes Detention Center without incident and is charged with child neglect and possession of drug paraphernalia.
