Ousting of Superintendent MaryEllen Elia Reeks of Petty, School-Board Politics

This week, the Hillsborough County School Board voted 4-3 to oust superintendent MaryEllen Elia without cause, meaning tax-payer money will be responsible for paying out the 2 1/2 years of her contract, worth $1.1 million. The worst part about it, though, is that she was just named Florida Superintendent of the Year and is a finalist for National Superintendent of the Year.
