Two troopers were eastbound on Fowler Avenue at 56th Street in Tampa Friday morning when they spotted a 1996 Jeep Wrangler traveling east in the westbound lanes of Fowler Ave.
After a four minute chase of a “leap frog” chase in which the two officers went ahead of the driver, 18-year-old Stephen Tyler Moore, he pulled off on northbound Williams Road.
At this point, the officers arrested Moore for fleeing to elude, DUI, resisting arrest and possession of drug paraphernalia. Moore refused to provide a breath test and additional criminal mischief charges were added.
Police say Moore kicked out the rear side window of the patrol car he was being transported in.
Moore is a student at Armwood High.
