Leto High School student Ariana Pajuelo, 16, was crossing Sligh Avenue from Hesperides Street in the pedestrian cross walk while walking to school.
Hillsborough County police say Saundra Daniels, 52, was traveling westbound on Sligh Avenue in a 2001 Lexus RX 300 (SUV) when she struck Pajuelo.
Hillsborough Fire Rescue responded and transported Ariana Pajuelo to St. Joseph’s Hospital where she is currently listed in stable condition. Daniels was not injured.
Daniels was issued a civil citation for Failure to Stop for Pedestrian in a Crosswalk.
