A CrimeStoppers tip led to school resource officers finding a loaded gun on a student in Hillsborough County.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office says that on September 11 at about 11:00 a.m. a school resource officer and school security responded to classroom 304 at King High School after getting a tip from a student that 17-year-old Iver Leon Rogers of Tampa had a loaded gun on him.
The officers seized Rogers’ bag and located inside a pocket was a loaded .32 caliber handgun. Rogers was taken into custody and will be booked at the Juvenile Assessment Center.
He has been charged with one count of carrying a concealed weapon and possession of a weapon on school grounds.
