No Children Hurt In Bus Crash In Tampa

Emergency crews are responding to a crash involving a school bus at Central Avenue and Broad Street.

One person was extricated from a car involved in the crash with the bus, which happened just before 7:00 a.m. Thursday, according to Tampa Fire Rescue.

Tampa Police says the driver of the truck ran a red light and slammed into the side of the bus. He was taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital in critical condition.

The bus was heading to Carollwood Elementary School. Officials say the only four children on the bus were not hurt.

Additional ambulances were called out to evaluate the children. The condition of the person in the car has not been released.
