Trooper Pulls Over Another Wrong-Way Driver

For the second day in a row, a car going the wrong way on the Suncoast Parkway was stopped. In fact, the same officer who pulled a woman over Wednesday morning made another stop Thursday.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, just after 3 a.m., a car was going north in the southbound lanes on the Suncoast Parkway just south of State Road 54. Other drivers made calls to 9-1-1 so fortunately the police were able to locate and safely pull the car over.

Lori Lee Downard, 49, of Zephyrhills, was arrested after failing a field sobriety test and transported to the Pasco County Jail. Her BAC was 0.115. She thought she was northbound on I-75 heading home.

On Wednesday, the same trooper, Ronald Evans, pulled over 31-year-old Maria Bolivar after going the wrong way. Troopers say she was very intoxicated and she admitted to leaving a bar off of MacDill Avenue. She was trying to go home to Oldsmar.
