Dozens Homeless After Tampa Apartment Fire



TAMPA, Fla. (AP) _ Fire broke out at an apartment complex in a Tampa suburb injuring one firefighter and displacing 39 residents.

The fire started early Thursday at the Captiva Club Apartments in Tampa’s Town `N Country neighborhood.

Hillsborough County Fire Rescue spokeswoman Nacole Revette told The Tampa Tribune no residents were injured but one firefighter was taken to the hospital.

There was no condition update.

Officials say 12 of the 16 units in the building were damaged.

The fire didn’t spread to any other buildings.

Television footage showed pajama-clad residents outside the complex as firefighters battled the fire.

Investigators are looking into what caused the fire.
