Officers responded to the area of Ybor Street and 24th Avenue East after hearing a series of gunshots in the area and discovered a black male with a gunshot wound.
The victim, 19-year-old Quinton Girven, was transported to Tampa General Hospital where he later died from his injuries. Within minutes of the initial shooting, a second victim, 24-year-old Fady Suleiman, was dropped off at another Tampa hospital with a gunshot wound.
As the investigation continued, it was determined that the shootings were related. Police urge witnesses to call Crimestoppers if you have any information.
The investigation is ongoing.
