Polk County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Homicide detectives are currently conducting a fatal crash investigation involving a car versus a motorcycle. There is one fatality.
At approximately 2:57 p.m. Saturday, the PCSO received notification of a crash on Lake Ruby Drive West and Cypress Gardens Boulevard SE, in Winter Haven, in which a female driver operating a white Mazda 3 collided with a blue BMW motorcycle operated by a white adult male.
The male motorcycle operator died on scene.
Lake Ruby is currently closed with no traffic flow. Motorists are asked to avoid the area and seek alternate routes.
The investigation is ongoing.
