Tampa Woman Charged After Sending Text To Reporter

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) _ A 27-year-old woman was arrested and charged with threatening to blow up a child care center after sending a text message to a local reporter.

Hillsborough County deputies say the reporter received a text Wednesday saying the person had to “make threats to be heard” and was going to blow up a child care center.

The center was searched, but no devices were found.

Deputies figured out that the text message was sent by a woman named Recia Henry, who they say admitted to sending the threat to the reporter’s phone.

Henry was charged with threatening to discharge a destructive device.

She was being held at the Hillsborough County Jail, and it wasn’t immediately known whether she had an attorney.
