Tampa Preparing For Storm Debris Cleanup

Tampa, Fla. (July 12, 2012) – The City of Tampa’s Department of Solid Waste & Environmental Program Management is preparing for storm debris cleanup for residents living in priority areas listed below.  Collection will begin Thursday, July 12, 2012 in the following residential boundaries:

Area 1:  Hillsborough River to the North/East Hillsborough Avenue to the South/I-275 to the West/and North 22nd Street to the East

Area 2:  East Hillsborough Avenue to the North/East Martin Luther King Boulevard to the South/I-275 to the West/and North 15th Street to the East

Area 3:  East Busch Boulevard to the North/Hillsborough River to South/I-275 to the West/and North 30th Street to the East

Residential customers wishing to schedule storm debris pickups are encouraged to call the customer service call center no later than Thursday, July 19, 2012 at (813) 348-1111, or contact the Department online via the customer service request center at

Additional storm debris disposal options available to residents are as follows:

McKay Bay Transfer Station:  With a current City of Tampa utility bill and driver’s license, residents may drop-off brush and large bulky items free of charge.

Hours of Operation:  -Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 7:00 a.m.-5:30 p.m.

-Wednesday, Saturday: 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

-Sunday: Closed

Curbside Pick-up:  City of Tampa residents may place storm debris at the curbside for collection.  Debris should be placed away from obstructions such as mailboxes, parked vehicles, fences, water meters, etc.
