Mayor Bob Buckhorn’s signature is all that’s needed to decriminalize small amounts of marijuana in Tampa.
Council today passed an ordinance 6-1 that would give police the option to write a ticket to someone caught with 20 grams or less rather than carting them off to jail.
Fines would start at $75 and not result in a criminal conviction on your record.
Councilman Charlie Miranda was the only one to vote against the ordinance.
