The Polk County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team responded this morning after a resident was held hostage at a home in Poinciana. The original call came in around 4:00 o’clock as a burglary at 610 Wallaby Lane. One resident was held as a hostage originally, but deputies were able to secure that individual’s release. The barricaded subject then exchanged gunfire with deputies. The standoff ended around 9:45 with no reported injuries.
