Last-Minute Holiday Shopping Hours

If you’ve been to a mall lately, you know it’s no joke!

There are last minute shoppers everywhere.  The question is, are you one of them?  Do you need more time for getting those last minute gifts?

You’re in luck.

Here’s a little secret for all you last minute folks, and you know who you are! Retailers love you.  They are thrilled about cashing in on this last week before Christmas.  Business is booming, especially at places like International Plaza.

International Plaza spokesperson Nina Mahoney says, “There will be a lot of men who are last minute Christmas shoppers, especially on Christmas Eve, so a lot of dads and their kids are shopping.

If you’re looking for the right gift, but you’re working this week, no worries. The stores are staying open for you! In fact, Toys ‘R’ Us is making it very easy for shoppers. They’re pulling an all nighter, all week!

Starting Tuesday, they are officially open all night every night until Christmas Eve.

Macy’s also has extended hours. In some parts of the country, like New York and California, they too are staying open 24 hours. Here in the Bay area, though, they’ll stay open until midnight every night until Christmas Eve.

And, if you really want to procrastinate, Walmart is staying open on Christmas Eve until 8 p.m.

Target is staying open that night until 9 p.m.

So, there’s no excuses if you don’t get the gift you’re looking for, because the retailers are bending over backwards to help you find that prefect present.

And if all else fails, everybody loves gift cards.

Mahoney tells us, “It’s universal. This way you know you’re giving them something that they can choose what their gift is.”
