President Obama Vetoes Keystone Pipeline

Well, we kind of knew it would be like this. Conflict and stalemate in Washington, and one bill got the veto pen, while another is stuck on Capitol Hill. The presidential veto came in regards to the Keystone XL pipeline, with President Obama taking just a few hours before doing what he’s been saying he would do all along. Then there is the DHS funding bill, which includes a repeal of the president’s executive actions on immigration. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell cannot get past the Democratic roadblock, and has agreed to separate the two issues in the bill, and vote on each separately.

But Harry Reid wants word from Speaker Boehner that he’ll do the same in the House before he agrees to the plan.

And that’s where we are at the moment.
