The St. Petersburg Police Department is investigating a homicide Wednesday morning.
According to police, officers were called out to the Inlet Bay at Gateway Apartments located at 12000 4th Street North in regard to a shooting call that came in at about 7:57 a.m.
Police found a 40-year-old man dead. They’re withholding his name until next of kin is notified.
They also found a wounded 32-year-old female victim who was transported to a local hospital in stable condition.
Detectives on the scene report that based on their preliminary assessment this does not appear to be a random act of violence, but the overall circumstances are still being determined.
