St. Pete Curbside Recycling Starts Amid Controversy

Today marks the gradual start of curbside recycling in St. Petersburg.

Trucks are rolling out from one zone to the next over time to pick up contents of 76 thousand blue bins distributed throughout the city.

Homeowners will pay three dollars a month more on their water bill whether they take part in the every other week program or not.

Some homeowners complained that not enough was done to educate the public about the program and that the city did not make provision for alley pick up.
