After years of bickering, lawsuits, threats, bad blood, and fits and starts, millions of dollars are now signed, sealed, and delivered for construction of a new St. Petersburg pier and pier approach.
Council approved the money today unanimously.
Groundbreaking on the new pier is set for early next year, with opening scheduled for Fall 2018.
Demolition of the old inverted pyramid, which stood iconically for 40 years, continues.
