Spice Overdoses Worry St. Pete Police

St. Petersburg police officers who work downtown are busy passing out flyers that detail the dangers of synthetic marijuana, or spice as it is known on the street.

That after police got 28 calls since last Thursday about spice overdoses, most in the area of Fourth Street N and 15th Street.

Officials suspect that while the drug is potentially deadly when it is made correctly, this batch may have been defective, and is making people sick.

Reports are that some of these spice users were experiencing seizures, vomiting, and fainting.

There are no reports of deaths.
