St. Petersburg city leaders held a meeting for the public Thursday night to discuss the new design for the cities Pier.
More than 100 people showed up and allowed the public to discuss ways to improve upon the design.
‘The Lens,’ with it’s $50 million dollar budget, is the design that city council members approved to replace the decades-old icon that has fallen into disrepair in downtown St. Petersburg.
Not everyone offered constructive criticism.
Some felt the design of The Lens might be dangerous in storms.
But not everyone was critical, some made comments that it’s going to be spectacular.
The city will hold three more meetings:
6 p.m. June 12 at the Enoch Davis Center, 1111 18th Ave. S.
6 p.m. June 14 at the J.W. Cate Recreation Center, 5801 22nd Ave. N.
6 p.m. June 19 at the Lake Vista Recreation Center, 1401 62nd Ave. S.
