Smoker On Oxygen Likely Causes FL Blast And Fire

NASSAUVILLE, Fla. (AP) _ Authorities say a mobile home fire that killed three people in northeast Florida appears to have been accidental.

Firefighters found the bodies of two men and one woman inside the Nassauville home after extinguishing the blaze Sunday morning.

Nassau County Sheriff Bill Leeper says neighbors reported hearing a load boom and saw the home on fire around 4:30 a.m.

Leeper tells The Florida Times-Union that one of the men inside the trailer was on oxygen and was a smoker.

The state Fire Marshal’s Office is assisting the investigation.

Leeper says all three bodies were taken to the medical examiner’s office in Jacksonville for autopsies.

The victims’ names have not yet been released, pending notification of next of kin.
