Sanford: Burglars Lose Five Guns After Robbing Al’s Army Store

Als Army Store

Burglars broke into Al’s Army Navy Store in Sanford about 4 a.m. today but dropped five guns they were trying to steal when they saw police lights approach, authorities and the store manager reported.

Police are unsure whether the thieves got away with any guns. Manager Fred Meltzer was checking store records and working on an inventory.

At worst, they may have stolen one or two semi-automatic pistols, he said.
