A man has been arrested after stealing a motorized handicap scooter on Monday.
The St. Petersburg Police Deparmtment says they received a tip from their Trip 411 system on Monday that a man was riding around in the stolen scooter. The person who tipped the police sent a picture of the suspect on the scooter.
After further questioning, police discovered that a handicap scooter had been stolen from in front of the Walmart located at 1794 22nd Street South on Sunday.
Officers were dispatched to location provided by the tipster and the suspect, identified as Jamal Broomfield, 28, was arrested. The scooter was located as well and returned to Walmart.
