St. Pete Woman Dies After Rear Ending PSTA Bus

A woman suffered fatal injuries after she had a medical episode and rear ended a PSTA bus in St. Petersburg.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a 54-year-old woman, who’s name is pending next of kin, had a medical episode at 8:10 Friday morning and rear ended the PSTA bus on 66th Street North near 54th Avenue North.

She was driving a 1999 Ford sedan. According to the police report, she was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the incident and alcohol was not a factor.

The woman was transported to St. Petersburg General Hospital, where she died. The hospital is just around the corner on 38th Avenue North.

The bus driver did not suffer any injuries.
