St. Petersburg police officers responded to the Tryst Lounge at 240 Beach Drive NE at about 3:00 a.m. this morning on what was initially reported as a disturbance call.
When officers arrived a crowd of people were standing outside pointing to a woman, later identified as Krastina Yankova Gesheva, who was in a 2010 silver Mercedes in front of the lounge. Witnesses told the officers that she had hit two parked cars as she was leaving the parking lot.
When officers arrived at the car, they noted that Gesheva’s 8 year old son was in the car with her at the time. Neither were injured and when officers asked her to step out of the vehicle, Gesheva showed clear indications of being under the influence.
Officers learned from witnesses that Gesheva had been seen in the lounge drinking for approximately four hours and that her son had been seen sitting in her car alone during that time. They said that periodically the son would leave the car and come into the bar to look for his mother.
Gesheva was taken into custody and charged with DUI and Child Neglect. Her blood alcohol content was later determined to be 0.177%. Officers arranged for a guardian to take custody of the child.
