All Lanes On Gandy Blvd Reopened After Fuel Tank Crash

The Florida Department of Transportation on Thursday has reopened all lanes on Gandy Boulevard after a fuel tanker crashed and caused a massive explosion.

They say all 1,000 tons of contaminated soil has been removed and 25,000 gallons of contaminated water were removed and taken to certified facilities for handling.

Testing revealed that no fuel had penetrated under the bridge wall. FDOT staff is still determining how much of the bridge wall will need to be replaced.
