Dog Without Nose Rescued In St. Pete

A two-year-old pit bull mix with no nasal cavity is in good hands now after being picked up by a St. Petersburg rescue organization, Passion 4 Pits. She is currently undergoing treatment, reports WFLA.

Named “Khalessi,” the dog is reportedly in good spirits despite the trauma it has endured.

Khalessi weighs just 20 pounds, and is also missing part of her upper jaw and has old fractures on her pelvis. She has limited use of her rear legs as well.

Passion 4 Pits says Khalessi was found dumped in a yard in Orange County ten days ago. As of now, she is staying with the founder of the organization or at another foster home while undergoing treatment.

It is believed that Khalessi’s injuries were intentional, and not a birth defect.
