Ruskin: Family Remains In Hospital After Fire

RUSKIN, Fla. (AP) — The father and siblings of a 4-year-old girl who died in a mobile home fire near Tampa remain in the hospital.

Relatives told The Tampa Tribune that 30-year-old Manico Carmona Jr. is being treated for burns to his arms, hands, ears and chest. He also suffered several cuts while trying to get his children out of the burning mobile home on Friday night.

His daughter Alejandra died in the fire. Two other children — 2-year-old Lexi and 7-month-old Angel — are being treated for minor injuries. His girlfriend is also being treated for burns to her feet. She carried Angel and her own son from the fire.

The fire broke out late Friday. A neighbor broke a back window and tried to get the little girl out.
