Reward Offered for Golf Cart Thief Arrest

Crime Stoppers of Tampa Bay is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the identity and arrest of the unknown suspect(s) responsible for the thefts of several thousand dollars worth of golf carts.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating a series of twenty-three golf cart thefts that have been occurring in unincorporated Hillsborough County since December 2011.

The thefts began on December 6, 2011, and have continued into the 2012, with the most recent theft having occurred on January 23, 2012.

The majority of the thefts have occurred in southeastern Hillsborough County.

To date, these thefts have accounted for losses of $25,000 – $35,000 worth of golf carts. No suspect information is available at this time.
