Response To Leah Remini Leaving Church Of Scientology

This letter was sent to our news station in response to an article written about Leah Remini leaving the church:

Dear Editor,

In your article (July 12, 2013, “King of Queens Star Leah Remini Quits Scientology”) you failed to request or publish a statement from the Church of Scientology.

In relation to Ms. Remini: The Church respects the privacy of parishioners and has no further comment.

While this is not a comment at all in relation to the celebrity in question, your story contains allegations that are categorically false concerning the Church’s alleged practices and activities.

The allegations of “interrogations” and “thought modification” are absurd and pure nonsense, as are all the statements made about the Church’s leader, Mr. David Miscavige. Under the 25-year leadership of Mr. Miscavige, following in the footsteps of our Founder, L. Ron Hubbard, the Church is enjoying tremendous expansion as shown in our new Churches opening in six continents and the many new parishioners joining their congregations.

Please amend your story so that it does not include false statements from unauthorized and discredited sources. For your information, the two bloggers who have been pushing this story have been obsessed for years with spreading falsehoods to smear the Church.  They are unreliable. You really should look into the specific Internet sources being used in this story.
