Report: Office Tech Drives Productivity And More Hours

Digital technology in the workplace increases worker productivity and flexibility. But, says a new study by the Pew Research Center, it possibly comes at a price: a longer workday. Pew surveyed more than 1,000 adult Internet users and focused on 535 adults who worked full or part-time.

The report found nearly half of workers who use online and digital tools said they felt more productive and about four in ten said the Net, e-mail and phones give them added flexibility in the hours they work. On the flip side, almost as many say they are working more hours because of digital tools.
