Gigi Jordan, a millionare mother from Manhattan who made her money in the pharmaceutical industry, was convicted of manslaughter Wednesday after killing her 8-year-old autistic son in 2010. According to the New York Daily News, she escaped a murder conviction that would have put her in jail for life.
Instead of a life sentence, she faces anywhere from five to 25 years in prison.
The reason she killed her son? She thought that her ex-husband would have killed her and the boy would be stuck with his father. She used a cocktail of pills and alcohol to take his life.
According to the report, the boy’s father sexually abused him but he denies these allegations.
