Shocking Truth: Poverty Worsens For Kids

A recent report from the Annie E. Casey Foundation revealed that since 2008, African-American, American Indian and Latino children continue to sink into the depths of poverty during the Obama presidency.

The poverty rate among the aforementioned group sat at 18% in 2008 and increased to 22% by 2013.

“On nearly all of the measures that [it] track[s], African-American, American Indian and Latino children continued to experience negative outcomes at rates that were higher than the national average.”

Additionally, the study said: “During the last three months of 2014, the unemployment rate for whites and Asian Americans was roughly 4.5 percent, compared with a devastating 11 percent for African Americans and 6.7 percent for Latinos.”

Of course, the mainstream media and Democrats will spin this as racism and lack of opportunity, when in fact the policies driven by the administration — Obamacare, monetary policies and trade — have hit minorities the hardest. The continued influx of low-wage, low-skilled illegal immigrants and the desire to raise the minimum wage to $15 per hour, will also continue to hit these groups the hardest.
