Taurezs Leigh Bullock, the man wanted in the December shooting death of David Avant in the parking lot of a Port Richey strip club was arrested Monday in New York.

Bullock, 28, was arrested by Broome County Sheriff’s Office deputies Monday in the town of Dickson, near Binghampton, during a separate investigation into an unrelated crime. He is wanted in Pasco County on warrants for first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder in relation to the December 19, 2013 shooting death of David Avant, 27. That shooting took place about 2:15 a.m. in front of the Brass Flamingo, 9034 U.S. Highway 19 in Port Richey.

During Monday’s arrest, Bullock was driving a car that was being investigated by Broome County deputies. Bullock originally gave a false name to authorities, but when he was positively identified, the warrants from Pasco County were discovered.

Inside the car, heroin and a digital scale was found. A search of Bullock’s hotel room revealed 25 credit cards (each with different names), three fake identification cards, as well as several prescription drugs and drug paraphernalia.

Bullock remains in the Broome County Sheriff’s Correctional Facility and will be extradited to Pasco County at a future date.
