A Polk County high school was placed on lockdown Thursday morning as a precaution after reports of a weapon on campus.
According to Polk County Schools, officers are at Lake Region Senior High checking all students for a weapon. The school district is sending a recorded message to parents, informing them of the move.
Polk County Sheriff’s Office is on site helping out.
So far, no weapons have been found.
