Police Say Homeless Man Killed Another in Miami

MIAMI (AP) — Police say a homeless man is accused of killing another homeless man in Miami.

The Miami Herald reports 50-year-old Terry Douglas is charged with manslaughter in the fatal beating of 42-year-old Benigno Molina Castillo on Jan. 15.. He is being held on $7,500 bail.

Authorities say the fight happened near a liquor store in Miami. An arrest affidavit shows Douglas is accused of beating Castillo until he became unconscious.

Police have not said what the fight was about.

Castillo was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital, where he died.

The police report indicates a witness told police at the scene that Douglas was involved in the fight.

The newspaper reports Douglas confessed to police, saying he acted out of self defense.
