Police union: Officers justified in barrage after car chase in Miami-Dade
MIAMI (AP) — Miami-Dade police have released surveillance video of an armed robbery that led to a manhunt that ended in with two suspects and three injured officers.
The video police released Thursday shows 27-year-old Adrian Montesano holding a woman while pointing a gun at her.
Authorities say the countywide manhunt started on Tuesday when officers responded to the armed robbery. Montesano fired at one officer and stole his police cruiser. The car was abandoned in Hialeah where he and a second suspect got into another car, firing at officers pursuing them. .
Montesano was shot by officers. He died at the scene. The second suspect died at the hospital. That person has not yet been identified by police.
The officers were not seriously injured.
