The Tampa Police Department is investigating the deaths of two women found shot at the 800 block of Lotus Avenue yesterday afternoon.
Officials identified the women Thursday night as Linda J. Helms, 62, and Vickie Sterling, 54, both of Tampa and said they are related.
Police say a friend concerned about the woman’s welfare stopped by their home Thursday afternoon and found them dead in the house.
He called 911 at 4:24 pm.
Both victim died of gunshot wounds.
Detectives are still processing the crime scene and interviewing witnesses.
They continue working to determine what events lead up to the deaths of the sisters in their North Tampa home.
