Police Ask Help For Naming Sarasota Killer

The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office is trying to identify the man seen with James Brotherton shortly before he was murdered on November 21st.

Surveillance photos and video show Brotherton and a man in black clothing at the Beneva Village Bank of America ATM at 11:49 p.m. Brotherton was shot about four minutes later at Curtiss Avenue and
Gulf Gate Drive and his body was found there at 12:30 a.m., by a deputy on routine patrol.

His vehicle was located near Stickney Point Road and Gateway Drive around 5:20 a.m.
